that sudden connection

I’ve never watched pro sports. I’ve always been a college sport fan. I know the big names (aka the ones on the news), but other than that I’m pretty lost.

I’m not sure if I am filling a void or what, but I suddenly have this connection to all Chicago sports teams. I’ve never watched hockey before in my life (sorry I don’t count slow community games), but I watched the Blackhawks win the Stanley Cup. I know the Cubs don’t have any chance of going to the World Series, but I love them anyway. And I have this new sense of pride that Michael Jordan played on for the Bulls.

I’m told that Chicago fans are crazy. I’m not worried about being the quiet one, but I’ll probably stand out by being the loud one that isn’t using vulgar language.
